Chimney & flue
Chimney questions
It depends on what you burn. For wood and bituminous (house) coal, the guidance is up to four times a year — or at least at the start and end of the heating season. Smokeless fuels and gas need sweeping at least once a year. Burning more, or on an older flue, means sweeping more often. If in doubt, ask and we'll advise honestly for your setup.
No. Every sweep is done with full dust-sheet protection and a sealed, HEPA-filtered vacuum running throughout. The work is contained, the hearth is left exactly as we found it, and there's a full clear-down before we leave. You shouldn't be able to tell we've been — except for a cleaner, safer chimney.
Yes. As a NACS-registered sweep, every clean comes with an official certificate that home insurers recognise and accept. We email it to you before we leave, so it's on record the moment the job is done — useful for renewals, claims and selling a property.
It's a full HD video survey of the inside of your flue, top to bottom. It reveals cracked liners, blockages, nesting and structural wear that a sweep alone can't show. It's well worth it before buying a property, after a chimney fire, if your stove smokes back, or simply for peace of mind. You keep the footage and a written report.
We can remove inactive nests safely and legally — the law protects nests while they're in use, so active nests must be left until the birds have finished. Once it's clear, we sweep, inspect and recommend a cowl to stop it happening again, usually all in one visit. A blocked flue is a carbon monoxide risk, so don't light the fire until it's checked.
Garden, grounds & haulage
Garden & services questions
Yes. As a registered waste carrier, we remove and dispose of all green and general waste legally and responsibly — it's never fly-tipped. Whether it's a routine cut or a full clearance, you won't be left with bags to deal with, and your duty of care is covered.
Both. Some customers book us for regular garden or grounds maintenance; others need a one-off rescue of an overgrown plot, a single clearance, or a hand moving something. Tell us what you need and we'll quote accordingly — no obligation, no pressure.
Light haulage, deliveries and collections — from a single item to a small part-load. Furniture, appliances, marketplace pickups, taking something to the tip, helping with a small move: if it fits and it's legal, we'll shift it carefully and on time across the area.
Yes — we carry public liability insurance covering both the chimney and garden sides of the business, indoors and out. You're protected, and so are we, on every job.
